It has nothing to do with the biryani — no dum cooking, no 19 spice blend — just idli, vada, dosa, pongal and filter coffee, made the way most of us grew up eating them.

It’s aimed squarely at Horamavu’s early risers — people heading out toward Manyata Tech Park or the Outer Ring Road corridor, kids getting ready for school, or anyone who wants a proper breakfast without cooking one. The kitchen keeps it simple: a handful of dosa varieties, soft idlis and the crisp thatte idli, ven pongal, and a short list of rice specials for anyone who wants something more filling before 10 AM.

Breakfast in Horamavu is a much less crowded search than biryani — most kitchens in this part of Bengaluru don’t open before 11 AM, let alone serve a full South Indian spread at 7. Amma’s Breakfast fills that gap: thatte idli and filter coffee for someone rushing out the door, or a Mini Breakfast — idli, vada, ven pongal, dosa, kesari and filter coffee — for a slower Sunday.

It runs strictly 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, daily, separate from the biryani menu that takes over the kitchen afterward. If you’re after idli, dosa or vada near Horamavu early in the morning, this is the window to catch it.
